Who we are
CrimeMapsUK is an independent service that presents published policing data for England and Wales from the official police data portal (data.police.uk), under the Open Government Licence. We are not affiliated with any police force or government body. You can contact us at support@crimemapsuk.com or through the help and feedback form.
The free service
The maps, dashboards, articles, and force-area pages are free to use, with no account, no paywall, and no advertising. They are provided as-is: we work to keep the data current and correctly presented, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
Paid neighbourhood reports
- Reports are digital PDF files generated on demand for the postcode, radius, and time window stated on the order form and inside the report itself.
- Payment is taken by Stripe before generation. Your card details never touch our servers.
- Most reports are ready within a few minutes. Your report reference code is the access key for the status and download pages - keep it private.
- Because a report is a digital product supplied immediately, by paying you consent to immediate supply and waive the 14-day cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Payments are otherwise non-refundable.
- If a report fails to generate, or the file you receive is corrupted or clearly not what was ordered, contact support@crimemapsuk.com with your report reference and we will regenerate it or refund the order.
Accuracy and what reports are not
Everything on this site and in the reports describes published police records, not all crime experienced in an area. Locations in the published data are approximate by design, outcomes are partial, and recent months are revised by police forces. Reports state their own limitations on the page and are not safety ratings, valuations, or professional advice. You should not make significant decisions on the basis of this data alone.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for decisions made in reliance on the site or on a report. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. For how the data is processed, see the methodology page.
Acceptable use
- Do not use the site or reports to harass, target, or identify individuals, or to make claims about specific people or addresses.
- Do not scrape the site at a rate that degrades it for others; the underlying data is freely available from data.police.uk.
- You may share or quote report contents with attribution. Do not resell reports as your own product.
Changes and governing law
We may update these terms as the service evolves; the version on this page applies. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
For how we handle personal data, see the privacy page.
